What is the true cost of going skiing? Now suppose you had been planning to spend the day studying at the library. What is the cost of going skiing in this case? Explain. In the first instance by going skiing instead of going to work at your part-time job could mean the difference of having a roof over your head or not, or having food to eat or not. The true cost is forfeiting the income you would have received by going to work instead of going skiing. In the second instance the difference between going skiing and going to the library to study could mean failing the test and possibly that class. Going skiing would make you happy for the moment but failing the class could have long term effects such as retaking the class or possibly failing school. 2.
