CHEM-1100: Chemistry I Lab Policies The prelab must be completed and submitted at the beginning of the discussion session in order to enter the laboratory. No prelab will result in a ZERO for the entire experiment. No make up labs permitted without an acceptable excuse from the Student Experience Office, Physician, Sports Coach or permission from Dr. Sprague. If you miss a lab without an acceptable excuse you will receive a zero for the entire experiment. If you miss 3 or more labs without an excuse you will lose the entire 20 point lab grade toward your final grade.

(5 points of 20 point experiment grade) Objective: State the purpose of the experiment and a brief statement about the basic principles and methods to be used. Prelab Questions : Answer the prelab questions for that lab (read carefully, some labs do not have prelab questions). Flow Chart : Before coming to lab, construct a flow chart summarizing the experimental procedure. Include any calculations that you may have to perform before lab to complete the experiment successfully. Pre-Lab Exercise
