Richard Germade-Craan Chem 1200 Section 04 Lab 2: Exploring LeChatelier’s Principle Pre-lab Objective: To create a reaction environment favorable to equilibrium between two cobalt(II) chloride complexes [Co(H2O)6]+2.2 Cl- and CoCl4-2 using knowledge of thermochemical properties, and to reverse the equilibrium and observe the changes in reactant and product concentrations. Pre-lab Questions: 1. Reactant A will weigh 6 grams and product B will weigh 4 grams. K eq = 0.67 2. Reactant A will weigh 4 grams and product B will weigh 2 grams. K eq = 0.50 3. Reactant A will weigh 2 grams and product B will weigh 4 grams. K eq = 2.00 4. Reactant A will weigh 4 grams and product B will weigh 6 grams. K eq = 1.50 Experimental Flow Chart: Place well plate over a sheet of paper, select a well as a waste cup in which to discharge an initial drop from the pipet before starting the drop count. Place water and waste beakers adjacent to well plate. Select nine wells in and transfer 10 drops of 1.0 M cobaltous chloride solution into each one and record
