ERTH 1100 GEOLOGY 1: EARTH’S INTERIOR Instructor: Dave De Simone, hawkeye272david@yahoo.com ; SC 1W-13, 276-2372. Class meetings: Lab meetings: Wednesdays, 3 sections…you must take the lab to receive credit for this course. Required text: Earth – Portrait of a Planet, 3 rd edition, 2008, by Stephen Marshak. Required lab manual: Laboratory Manual for Physical Geology, 6 th Office hours : It’s best to arrange meetings with me. As an adjunct, I’m not on campus very much. However, I shall try to be around Monday afternoons and some Thursday afternoons. Attendance: Required for class and lab meetings. If you have to miss a lecture, please get the material from another student. Relying on the textbook readings alone may not be good enough. Please try not to miss a lab. You may arrange with the TA’s to attend another lab section on a given week but making up a missed lab may be difficult and relies upon the discretion of the Instructor and the TA’s. If you’re sick, please provide the necessary proof and we will allow you to make up a lab. Grading
