Goodwill is an intangible asset which is most difficult to measure, as there are few bases of which we can quantify the expected benefits to accrue to an organisation due to their goodwill. Goodwill is nothing but a brand value of an organization and progress of any organization depends on its goodwill. I agree that in the era of globalisation where every day we are facing new competitors in the market due to which as a counter measure we also need to change policies, market segment etc. Accordingly so as to meet up with the challenges and to stick on our market share.

Unformatted text preview: Before globalisation there was not much competition and hence intangible assets such as goodwill, patents etc. made once are expected to give benefits for a long period, but as present due to everyday changing technologies patent and trademarks are not expected to give as much benefits as earlier and the chances of obsolescence are also maximised and the same is with goodwill also. On the basis of the above factors we can say that in the era of globalization we need to change our views towards intangible assets to a great extent....
