EXAM PREPARATION HINTS Instructions: There will be two Midterms and a Final Exam in this course. Questions will be limited to material covered since the previous exam (not cumulative). Material for the exams will come from the following sources: 1) the text readings, 2) class lecture, 3) class discussion, 4) in-class videos, and 5) any in-class exercises, 6) select course pack readings and handouts, and 7) guest lectures. Each exam will be composed of 40 multiple choice questions. In order to do well on the exams, it is recommended that you read the entire chapters before the lecture , come to every class ready to participate, complete the Chapter Preparation Questions, and carefully review the chapter and class notes before the exam. The exams are intended to test knowledge acquisition, comprehension, and application. Past experience has indicated that it will be important to attend nearly every class in order to achieve a high score on the exams. Exam Preparation Hints From Previous D-301 Students: The following are some tips from a few of all those D-301 students who received an "A" in the class. I asked them to share their approach with you as a way to improve the performance of the entire class. Student 1: 1. Try to do most of the readings before class. 2. Come to class prepared, ready to talk about the readings. 3. Be especially prepared for the case discussions, those are vital. 4. Attend class regularly. 5. Reread the chapters before the exam. 6. Take notes on the chapters as you reread them. 7. Recopy the notes from class. Student 2: "I think that reading the book and attending the lectures are the key. Before the test I took notes on the book and on the notes I had written down from each class. Taking the time to write something down always makes it stick in my mind." Student 3: [After reading the entire chapter in preparation for each lecture]: "The way I prepare for my exams is to read all the blue margin notes and the chapter summary in detail, since these cover
