The cor re spond ing bound ary-value prob lem is solved by em ploy ing the Laplace trans for - ma±tion±and±the±prin±ci±ple±of±cor±re±spon±dence.±For±com±par±i±son±and±es±ti±ma±tion±of±the±ac±cu±racy±of±re±sults±given by the TDLTSDB, the same prob lem is also solved by us ing var i ous ap prox i mate plate the o ries. The viscoelasticity prop er ties of the plate ma te rial are de scribed by the Rabotnov frac tional-ex po nen tial op er a tor. The nu mer i cal re sults and their dis cus sion are pre sented for the case where the plate is made of a mul ti lay ered viscoelastic±com±pos±ite±ma±te±rial.±In±par±tic±u±lar,±the±vari±a±tion±range±of±prob±lem±pa±ram±e±ters±is±es±tab±lished±for which it is nec es sary to in ves ti gate the un du la tion in sta bil ity of the viscoelastic com pos ite plate by us ing the TDLTSDB. In±tro±duc±tion As in [1-5], in the pres ent pa per, the buck ling in sta bil ity prob lem is in ves ti gated by em ploy ing the three-di men sional linearized the ory of sta bil ity of de form able bod ies (TDLTSDB). The pres ent level of this the ory is de tailed in mono graph [3], and the re views of in ves ti ga tions car ried out by em ploy ing the the ory are given in [1, 2] and many oth ers. It should be noted that these in ves ti ga tions were con ducted within the frame work of the Eu ler ap proach and mainly for time-in de pend ent ma te ri als and struc tural mem bers fab ri cated from them. At the same time, the re sults ob tained were also ap plied to time-de pend ent (viscoelastic) ma te ri als by em ploy ing the method of crit i cal strains [6], ac cord ing to which it is as sumed that the crit i cal strains in the purely elas tic and the cor re spond ing viscoelastic prob lem are iden ti cal. There fore, based on the re sults for purely elas tic sta bil ity prob lems, the crit i cal time is also found for viscoelastic bod ies. It is ev i dent that this method is very ap prox i mate and can be applied only to the cases where the precritical stress state is homogeneous.
