It didn’t create a community where products and services were brought and sold. It doesn’t charge users to join. How does it make money? MySpace, just like most of the crowdsourcing websites, makes money mainly with advertisement. Once those web sites receive millions of accesses daily, it is absolutely beneficial for a company to post their advertisements there, and get to show their products to millions of people everyday. When I searched for web site resources that can help an organization do background checks on IT security firms, it was easy to find a couple of Web sites of organizations that provide certification, and offer some guarantee of IT security firms. Some of those Web sites were: www.giac.org , www.isc2.org , www.sans.org , www.isaca.org/cism , www.issa.org , and a couple more....
