28 September 2010 Religion 161: Islam Shari'ah: includes everything Islamic Islamic Law comes from the words: Shar or Shari: street or road road which is very wide. ..a main road the road that defines the basis of believers that all walk down on the road of religion Tariqah: means road or path difference means a very narrow road that walking on is not simple or possible for everybody few undertake such a trip or journey tied to Sufism sanctifies every aspect of Islamic life for example charity is an obligation regulated through legal discourse business honesty and relationship: there are laws that define market operations define transient relationships: Man and God issues related to acts and worship (Ibadat: acts of worshipping God, servitude to God) God is the judge of quality of the relationship once one accepts and utters the shahada he becomes a Muslim and he must decide what kind of Muslim he wants to be a private matter, but not necessarily personal
