Dear Mr. Hoffman: Do you want to select a charitable cause this year that will bring revenue into our city, reduce pollution in the environment, emphasize the beauty of San Diego, and highlight our corporate social responsibility? Then the selection committee should choose the Plant a Tree Drive hosted by the Village Garden Society. This year we can partner with the Village Garden Society, a local non-profit organization, to start an annual festival that future generations will cherish. Having an annual Jacaranda Tree Festival is a goal of the Village Garden Society, and they have agreed to plant one Jacaranda tree for every $50 we raise. How will the festival benefit the city, the residents, and the environment? The Jacaranda Tree Festival would resemble the Cherry Blossom Festival held in Washington, DC, and Japan, in which over 700,000 people attend. Imagine having a festival of this magnitude in San Diego! Japan, in which over 700,000 people attend....
