(3 points) A logging company must decide the most advantageous duration for a paving project. The beginning date of the project has been set and is definite. A schedule analysis has shown that three project durations are feasible. If the paving is completed in 4 months, the basic project cost will be $80,000. A 5-month duration will allow construction savings of $20,000, whereas it will cost an extra $40,000 over the basic cost to reduce the project to 3 months. However, an extra transportation expense of $15,000 will be incurred for an extension of the paving time to 5 months, whereas transportation expenses can be cut by $10,000 over the 4-month schedule if the paving is done in 3 months. Since the project must be completed during a period of expected foul weather, the extra expense due to possible weather conditions should be considered. Weather records indicate
