Medical Assistant: As a medical assistant my first priority is to my patient so I need to do whatever is needed to settle down my patient. I would start off with by asking him to calm down so I could give explanation to him about the surgery. I would have compassion with his situation and express regret because no one came in once h woke up after the surgery to give him more information about the intestinal cancer that was found. I would inform him about everything I know by looking at his chart and that I would find out who his doctor is and get he/she to come to assist with any further questions he may have as soon as possible. After I found the proper doctor that he is assigned to and let the doctor know to go see him I would speak with the administrator or the assistant administrator to make them aware of the situation in case something else comes up.
