BUS 210 FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING SYLLABUS FALL 2010 Instructor: Viola Persia, CPA E Mail: theoryi@aol.com Class time: Friday 9:05-12:05 in Room 108 Harriman Hall Office hours: Harriman Hall Room 301 Tues, Thurs 8:30-9:30 am Catalogue Description: Introduction to basic accounting fundamentals. Includes the recording, summarization and adjusting of financial transactions and the basic accounting cycle. Explores the preparation and presentation of the basic financial statements; income statement, retained earnings statement, balance sheet and the statement of cash flows. Includes accounting principles and concepts, asset and liability valuation. Required Materials: Financial Accounting , 5th edition by Kimmel, Weygandt, Kieso,John Wiley & Sons. Optional: Student Study Guide for the above text. Strongly recommended : working papers for the above text Grading: Exam #1 25% 93-100 A 70-74 Exam #2 25% 89-92 A- 68-69 C- Exam #3 20% 85-88 B+ 65-67 D+ Project  10% 80-84 60-64 Homework 10% 78-79 B- <60 F Quizes 10% 75-77 C+ Quizzes will be taken on blackboard and there are no make-ups.
