Introduction Capital Consulting Capital Consulting, established in April 2010, is a public relations firm focused on building market value for our clients. We specialize in finance and planning processes. Within the Capital Consulting team, associates conduct research and studies, assess and evaluate operations, and implement productivity and results-based initiatives for improvements. Since Capital Consulting’s establishment, we have worked with more than 10 clients within the banking and financial industry. Please see the Appendix for individual bios. Executive Summary The United States is currently faced with a vast predicament of recession in our economy. With banks facing foreclosing problems, people dealing with mammoth amounts of debt, it is important now more than ever for banks to put out financial literacy programs to teach their customers how to manage their money. We have accepted Ally Financial’s invitation to create a grassroots Financial Literacy campaign in order to help them creative a positive relationship with the public. Our research showed that banks are not too popular in they eye of the public right now, so it is up to us to help them fix their image. In addition, we wanted to help Ally give as many people as possible the tools to be financially responsible. Before we could begin planning our campaign, however, we wanted to come up with a solid definition of what it means to be financially responsible. After conducting much secondary research, we compiled our information and came up with the following definition: The ability to understand money and how to manage it, so that you can make financial decisions that will benefit you now and in the future. A person with a financial literacy education has the ability to: Save money for short- and long-term goals Use credit responsibly Manage financial risks We plan to use this definition in each aspect of our campaign. First, we will conduct our own primary research to determine what our target public already knows about each of the three aspects to being financially responsible. Next, we will cater each of our events to teaching one of the three aspects. In addition, all of our key messages will be geared
