Adam Perko Q # 1 The value equation can be related to service previsions rendered in many ways. To the aspect of time, the value equation is important because time is one of the most valuable aspects of our life. People try to squeeze every minute out of any day. Regarding the time of the customer, the quicker the customer receives results the better the service is perceived to be. However, quick service is not always perceived as good service. At a fast food restaurant service needs too be fast because that is what the customer expects. At a fine dining establishment with multiple courses, if the food comes to quick it may seem like the restaurant is trying to rush the customer which can be looked at as bad service. The kind of service that should be provided needs to be understood by the person giving the service so it will meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. This all depends on how well the employee is trained. A well trained employee can provide the best service in a timely manner consistent with the expectations of the customer.
