Political Structures, Social, and Economic Life of Different Chinese Dynasties The Sui Dynasty (581–618) In 581, the Sui dynasty was created after a coup that overthrew a monarch boy from the power. Yang Jian, who was the general of northwest China, became the first emperor to unite and rule over a unified China. His reign, which extended for 38 years, was characterized by political, economic, and social changes. He established administrations in the dynasties and ensured that there were fairness and justice in those units. To succeed, Yang raised a group of skilled and pragmatic administrators who were supported by skilled corps. Furthermore, he created a political system that comprised three sections and six ministries. Nonetheless, Yang advanced social change by promoting Buddhism and establishing himself as its leader. He used religion as a unifying factor in the larger disintegrated China. Buddhism became widespread during his reign, and Confucian rituals were a part of the governance of the dynasty.
During the reign of emperor Wendi, ethnic rule of Han Chinese that included Confucian rituals played a significant role in the dynasty. Notably, Yang introduced rules and penal codes in his dynasty that were enforced by the administrators and considered as fairer and lenient.
