Drew Harrison MGT 3111 Business Trend Analysis Everyone has something hanging on their walls at home and the place they work. Artwork is everywhere. No one wants a blank wall in their house, and nothing is more unique than something from a local artists. However, the problem with being a local artist is that they are local. Only the people in that area can see the artists work. Forbes says that the online art market is growing (Art Trends For 2010). That’s why I want to create an Internet site where local artists can get exposer to a national or even international audience. This site would be way for people to view as well as buy local artist work. It would be like a cross between Ebay and Myspace. The Internet market place is constantly growing (Davis, 2011)Ebay has 92 million active users and made 1.39 Billion dollars in the second quarter of 2010 (Ebay, 2010). This shows that there is a ton of money to be made by users selling things to other users. However, on Ebay you really need to know what you’re looking for, you can’t just search for art. With my site you could browse art by genre and artists and be able to find something even when you don’t know what you’re looking for. Every item for sale would have a “buy it now” price and there would be an option to bid on items. Myspace is a dying social network from an individual standpoint, however
