Scoring Rubric for Written Papers Format (MLA) 500-750 words (1 ½ - 2 ½ pages) Typed Double-spaced (no extra spaces between paragraphs) 12 Point Font Title of play is italicized throughout the paper when used in text Correct heading: left side, single-spaced, Student’s name, Instructor’s name, Course Name and Number, Date of Paper. No title page Title of paper is centered two line down – no bold , no italics , no “quotation marks”, no underline , NO ALL CAPS letters Paragraphs are indented one half inch or 5 spaces Margins are 1” at the top, bottom and on both sides of the text Pages are numbered in upper right hand corner with student’s last name typed before page number Structure/Content of Paper Introduction: captures reader’s attention, clearly identifies the name of the play, name of the theatre company, playwright, director, and others (actors, designers), clear, concise thesis in introduction with evidence from the production and major
