What is Syphilis Syphilis is an infection that is passed from one  person to another person from sexual contact. Syphilis is a caused from bacteria Syphilis can also be contracted if a person touches  the blood or sores of an infected person similar to the  way AIDS/HIV can be contracted A person must be extremely careful not to touch  sores on the infected persons mouth, vagina,  penis  or on their rectum
