Physical – we grow closer through actual physical contact-touching 2.) Intellectual – when you engage another person in an exchange of important ideas, a kind of closeness develops that can be powerful and exciting 3.) Emotional – sharing personal information can both reflect and create closeness. Happens in F2F 4.) Shared activities – include working, exercising, spending time together. Transforms relationship from impersonal to interpersonal. Bond happens when sharing significant events with one another. Masculine and Feminine Intimacy Styles Masculine Not so willing to share thoughts and feelings Disclose less Less likely to share positive feelings Grow close by doing things together
