Heredity in a nutshell is the transmission of traits from a parent to their offspring. Heredity is studied very closely to figure out how a person or animal will react to a certain situation. However, the outcome will not solely rely on heredity. Although genes may influence a person to develop a certain way, there may be many different outcomes. This also has to do with the environmental factors. Genetics is how we study heredity. Behavior genetics is when we study the relationships between genes and the various behaviors someone has. This is not the only way we study behavior and traits.
