Jeffrey Witt Business Policy and Strategy Wal-Mart Case Study Group #6 Wal-Mart Case Study Wal-Mart’s simple strategy can account for its success over the past 25+ years. “The hallmarks of Wal-Mart’s strategy were a deeply ingrained dedication to cost-efficient operations, everyday low prices, multiple store formats, wide selection, a mix of both name-brand and private labeled merchandising, limited advertising, customer satisfaction, disciplined expansion into new geographic markets, and the use of acquisitions to enter foreign country markets.” Initially it was the superb strategy implementation that started Wal-Mart’s road to success but it was and continues to be their strategy execution that enables them to be so successful. Wal-Mart’s strategy was working well because they were able to maintain a strong market position in the minds of consumers when they of thought low prices and forced their competition to have low prices so that they could stay afloat. “While Wal-Mart had not invented
