Then you cross female cows with mahogany coat color to male bulls with mahogany coat color and get 350 baby calves of which 233 have mahogany coats and 117 have normal coats. Equal numbers of male and female baby calves were produced for each phenotype. Finally you cross mahogany cattle with normal cattle and regardless of which sex was mahogany and which sex was normal, you always obtained equal numbers of mahogany calves and normal calves among the offspring.
