Stacey,Great job with this week’s post. I could not agree more with your view that we need to take careof our elders. I actually used the very same verse in my own post as it just seemed to justify thereasons why the elderly are so important. I agree with the statement as the population changesand the baby boomers move into their senior years, it has raised many concerns on how it isgoing to change healthcare policies. “On average Americans are living longer, with thepopulation aged 65 and older projected to be about 20% by 2030” (Monrone & Ehlke, 2013)."The aging of baby boomers means that within just a couple decades, older people are projectedto outnumber children for the first time in U.S. history," Jonathan Vespa, a demographer with theU.S. Census Bureau,said in a press release."By 2035, there will be 78.0 million people 65 yearsand older compared to 76.7 million (previously 76.4 million) under the age of 18."
