1. What is the main message of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians? What is the meaning  and significance of Paul's reference to a pagan environment to contemporary society and  to you? Give at least one quote from this letter. See textbook page 95. The message of the first letter is about Paul addressing a number of issues to which he gives the Corinthians guidance. The first thing he says is that “the foolishness of God is wiser than men: and the weakness of God is stronger than men (1:25)” so he is saying that regardless of whatever issues people are dealing with, God’s answer is the correct one. Paul also says that he himself is not wiser or better than the average person, but he does demonstrate the Spirit and power of God. The issues Paul talks about are wise-ness, how to resolve quarrels between groups, problems with membership of the church, sexual problems, questions regarding the eating of meat, spiritual gifts, charity, and resurrection. One main resolution that Paul stated was that people shouldn’t judge others for practicing
