ANIMAL BURROWING AND BIOCHEMICAL DIAGENSIS EXCEPTIONS ARE SHOAL AREAS WERE WAVES CAN SUBSTANTIALY REWORK PREVIOULSY DEPOSITED BOTTOM SEDIMENTS INTO SAND WAVE RIDGES. EXAMPLES ARE THE SHOAL AREAS IN THE ATLANTIC OFF THE NORTHEASTERN UNITED STATES SECOND EXCEPTION IS IN AREAS OF HIGH TIDES WHERE BIGHTS (SHORELINE INDENTATIONS) EXIST TIDES CAN REWORK PREVIOUSLY DEPOSITED BOTTOM SEDIMENTS AND FORM EXTENSIVE TIDAL RIDGES. EXAMPLES ARE THE EAST CHINA SEA AND THE NORTH SEA
