In this paper I will be using two Croatian companies to provide some examples. One of them is Podravka , the largest Croatian company. The second company I will be mentioning is Akter-Public, which is one of the largest Croatian marketing agencies. I will be using these two companies because I am not that familiar with American companies as much as with Croatian, and also those examples will be great examples for those who read this project to see some difference between American companies and from the companies from the other part of the world. I intended to cover my research about those two companies because I was interested in knowing more about them and how they function inside of the company. Also, I thought it would be helpful to me, and to readers, to get better view of some strategies these two companies uses to motivate their employees. The first thing I have done when I was thinking about doing this project to write about some companies from my country, so I started talking to my friends and my family which companies I should write about. My cosine told me that her friend use to work in Podravka two years ago during a summer break and that she, my cousin, will be willing to help me to gather information needed for my project. As I was looking for material, which I will be using, she would provide it with some examples that she has heard from her, which I thought are very useful for this project. With the material and the information my cousin gave me, Since my material was mostly on Croatian, most of my paper was written in Croatian first, and than I had to translate it on English, because I thought it would be easier for me to do it in this way. Here it is what I did for my project. Podravka, Croatian largest company, is also known as one of the leading companies in eastern, southeastern, and central Europe. Podravka’s three main segments are food, drinks, and pharmaceutics. Quality, professional, and high level of knowledge is what characterizes this company. The key values of Podravka that are built in its’ each business process are innovation, economy, and desire for winning. In human relations the most appreciated value is teamwork, confidence, estimation, open-minded dialog, and transparency within people in the company. 2

We could say that the primary goal of Human Resource Department is to attract and recruit young and especially talented people, and offer them as better conditions as possible, employ them, and encourage them in further development of their career and particular convenience, and by compensation try to keep them after they have passed particular education process. Besides that, as a primary goal, we can say that desire to provide competition inside of the company that will make company recognizable in the competition. Podravka’s Human Resource Management is composed of three sectors; (1)
