Marko Urlic 09 -17 -2010 Essay #6 CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility. CSR is is commonly described by its promoters as aligning a company's activities with the social, economic and environmental expectations of its stakeholders. It has become a multi-billion dollar public relations specialty in the business world. As a first step in implementing corporate social responsibility a corporation should assess its current situation and activities. No single formula for social responsibility fits all companies. It is necessary to review each business systematically, discovering a range of societal impacts and societal expectations unique to it. Discovery of these elements requires looking a lot of factors, such as financial structure, products, production processes, employees, culture, geographic location, etc. The review can begin with a definition of CSR to provide a focus. Then it might explore legal or regulatory requirements, inventory existing company CSR initiatives, and examine competitors’
