Lamichell Phang English 101/Heilien T Letter to editor 1 February 2011 To the editor: After reading the article “ Citizens must be better educated about U.S economic options,” by Alex Alben I find that I disagree with him that we need to learn about economics. Basically, Alben is trying to say that, we as citizens must be better educated in terms of economics in order to understand the current economy. I think he has a good point but there might be problems with people who are trying to impose their ideas on the government. Because of this, it should be the government that has the responsibility for the economy, not the average citizen. Not all citizens must understand about economics in detail. However, they should focus on their field of study to gain credibility in their work. On the other hand, economic issues are better to be delegated by someone who is more professional in government. We as citizens should trust our government to decide the economic fate and leave them in charge. Moreover, it is not our responsibility to intervene with economic
