My Writing Experience Early on I was a decent writer with just about anything my teachers assigned, however I always hated English class. In fact I remember in the 4 th grade winning an award for the second highest graded essay in the school, and I still got a C in English that year. As time went on my writing ability narrowed down to only what I was interested in. If it was a “lame” topic, I did horribly. If I got to choose a topic, or it was something really cool, I did moderately well. It’s also worth mentioning that reading followed an almost identical path. If I liked it, breeeeezed through it, and remembered everything. If I didn’t like it, couldn’t read more than 5 minutes. As I matured this became a more common theme. In the end though, I scraped through any type of English/Literature class past the
