Jones Sharon Walker Tues/Thurs 9:40am- 10:40am February 13, 2007 LESSON PLAN GRADE: K-6 SUBJECT MATTER AREA: Physical Education/ Softball TOPIC: Fielding A Fly Ball ANTICIPATORY SET: Focus students attention: Does anyone know how to play Softball? How is it played? How many players are in the game? Can anyone give me a demonstration on how it played or some of the techniques? OBJECTIVE: Well class for the next week or two we will focus on one skill in the game of Softball. This week we will focus on fielding a fly ball. I will teach you the correct techniques used to field a fly ball. PURPOSE: I will teach you the correct techniques used to field and or catch a fly ball so that you may be able to make a good play during a game of Softball with, classmates, family, or during a organized game. INPUT: Does anyone in the class know how to field a fly ball or what that term means? Have the kids give examples. Give the correct term (break it down so they can understand the term).
