The PNS includes all neural structures outside the brain and spinal cord and includes sensory receptors, peripheral nerves and their associated ganglia, and efferent motor endings. Its components include the sensory and motor division. The motor division is broken down into somatic and autonomic systems. Describe the general structure of a nerve, and follow the process of nerve fiber regeneration. Every nerve consists of parallel bundles of peripheral axons, each of which is surrounded by endoneurium that encloses the fiber’s myelin sheath or neurilemma. Groups of fibers are bundled into fascicles by the perineurium. Finally, the fascicles are wrapped by the epineurium to form the nerve.
