t=2D'g dt=Δt=ΔD2gD' Russell Hochman Lab Section 7 1/31/11 Lab Report 1: Measurements Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to determine the uncertainty in experimental measurements and to make calculations with them and get a result with its uncertainty as well. In the first part of the lab, the class determined that the average dimension of the block were L=1.75 ±0.050cm and W=1.72 ±.09cm using these formulas. ( = = L i 115Li15 ± the uncertainty’s = = ( - ) ΔL i 115 Li Lav 210 and W, which was discover the same way). The equipment we used was a “crude” ruler and a metal block. In the second part of the experiment, my partner and I determine the average distance that it took us to react to a ruler falling, which took me .21 seconds and my partner also .21 seconds.
