Nisha Patel ENG 101 May 13, 2007 The Age of AIDS “The Human Immunodeficiency Virus is not a form of life. It is a protein coated mass of genetic instruction. HIV is smaller than white blood cells it attacks. The cell burst and dies. This continues for years. Cell by cell, the virus destroys its’ carriers’ immune system. Untreated, the person becomes ill from a serious of infection that are progressively serious and rare and finally fatal. This is AIDS.”- indicates the video “a deadly new disease”(part one-chapter 1). Although the documentary program “the age of AIDS” indicates after 25 years of introducing AIDS, about 70 million people have become infected with this HIV virus, it is also true that evidence such as triple cocktail gives little hope to people who have been affected by the virus that they can live around 8 years longer. 30 million people worldwide have already died of AIDS. Over the next decade, an estimated 40 million people will contract HIV shows the research. Real solution is to stop the spread of virus. This deadly disease first was found in 1981 among 5 gay men in Los Angeles.
