JAYMIN PATEL Nursing Homes: Not for Elderly Parents Wouldn't we like to live in our own home? How we would feel when our own children give us a nursing home admission form? At that moment, some parents fill out the form just for their children's sake. Some may argue; however, they end up in nursing homes because parents are used to fulfilling their children's wishes. Now -a- days there are nursing homes that are full of elderly people. It is in our hands whether to offer the form to our parents or not. Elderly parents should not be put into nursing homes. They should live with their adult children. To begin with, elderly parents need their children like the children needed them when they were little. In a nursing home, elderly parents have somebody to help them while they need it but those helping people are there for money. Like a child cannot adjust to a new environment, an elderly parent faces the same problem. At home, the elderly parents will get the loving care of family
