Chapter summary 2                                 Joanne Tellez 1- List the six most common elements of life and one thing each  contributes to human.  Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, and Phosphorous 2- Explain how only six elements can make up more than 98% of your  body. Simple things to make complex 3- List the three subatomic particles and beside each particle list  its properties.  Protons-positive charge Neutrons- neutral Electrons- negative charge    4- List the three major types of bonds and what defines them.  Ionic- positive and negative ions are linked by mutual attraction  of    opposite charges, and new substance is formed. Covalent- holds together two atoms that share one or more pairs of  electrons, and new substance is formed Hydrogen- an atom or molecule interacting weakly with a hydrogen  atom already taking part in a covalent bond, no new substance
