STUDENT RIGHTS ASSIGNMENT 2 Student Rights Assignment As a teacher in a school I believe that it would be part of my duties to help my students protect their rights. I believe that students are entitled to enjoy their basic human rights, and their rights as US citizens. As a teacher I must lead my students through the long and sometimes turbulent path to adulthood and into being productive members of society. I believe it is a teacher’s duty to define the status quo as teachers we must be firm, understanding, and impartial. I have heard many queries over the debated topic of student newspapers and censorship of what is written and published to the student body. Specifically when the student paper talks about a student or a particular group of students in a negative fashion, as a teacher I must be firm with the students when define the boundaries of personal information that is released publicly. As a teacher I must be understanding to the students on both sides and try to solve their
