“Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned, everywhere is war” Selassie (2010) (I of Ethiopia quotes, para. 1) I have often wondered why our species is incapable of accepting change easily, why do people have such a difficult time embracing the new and/or different things in our lives. Since humans began to keep a documented history of our time here on earth, there has been a pattern of violence and war. I cannot understand why our history has been and may always be stained with the blood that comes from the violence and war that we inflicted against our fellow human beings. Are not all human beings a part of the same species, how can you look at another person and question whether they come from the same strand of evolution as you yourself do? Man has spent their entire time here on earth trying to push themselves above one another, never understanding that only as whole can we hope to gain the balance and serene existence we all
