I NTRODUCTION HE purpose of roadway lighting system is to provide safety and guide for mankind during travel at times when daylight is not present. Reduction of night-time accidents and crimes is attainable with the use of roadway lighting system which provides sufficient visibility in dark areas. A roadway lighting system is designed depending on the road’s standards in order to meet the required illumination level. With the use of modern technology, virtual presentation that can automatically calculates for the intended illumination design of a roadway is obtainable and the calculation considers the position of the pole, the parameters of the boom, the category through which the road is classified to, and the intended luminaires to be used depending on the conditions that must be met. T I. O BJECTIVES 1. To identify if the roadway complies with the illumination standards. 2. To determine the factors affecting the illumination of the roadway.
