Unformatted text preview: As a teacher, one can t ruly make an impact on the world through children. This might be one of the most life-changing experiences one can have. Obviously no one teaches for the extrinsic rewards of teaching because teaching does not come with a lot of money, prestige, and power. Most, including myself, teach to achieve the intrinsic rewards of teaching. I think I will find much enjoyment and satisfaction in teaching. I love working with children and love to serve others. I have always been highly involved in community service activities in my area and I love helping others. Teaching is a profession that provides the most benefit to society than any other profession. I do not care very much about making money. I want to be happy. I think teaching is the perfect career choice for me because it suits my personality. There are many expectations teachers must meet in order to be the best teacher they can be. Teachers need to be aware of the basic needs of their students and cater to the diverse needs of each student. Students have many different strengths, abilities, and levels of achievement. Teachers should approach students by recognizing multiple intelligences or ways of learning. There are eight intelligences: verbal/linguistic, logical- mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. Great teachers find ways of recognizing their students’ individual abilities and implementing these into their lessons. Teachers also must recognize the diversities among ethnicity, race, culture, gender, and sexual orientation. They must not let these diversities affect the learning process in the classroom. They must find ways of creating an equal environment for each student....
