Verina Atalla PHS 2301- 7:30- 10:25 AM Title: Bacterial Transformation Partner name: Christina L. Purpose/Objective: The purpose of this experiment is to become familiar with the structure and function of DNA, understand gene and protein expression and to transform competent E . coli cells with plasmid DNA Background: Method: Look in lab procedure manual Results : Conclusion: What purpose does a control serve? A control serves as a plate that is used as a guide to help you compare changing results to stable ones. Which plates should be compared to determine if any genetic transformation has occurred? Why? If you compare the plate with the plasmid to the one that doesn’t have the plasmid, you will determine if genetic transformation has occurred because the plasmid has an added gene that will distinguish it from the other plate Which plates should be compared to determine if any GFP gene expression has occurred? Why?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
