Jordan Mulkey Mrs. Fields Oceanography 2/17/11 Paleoceanography It’s truly amazing how the world works, millions upon millions of events occur every day by scientist and the earth’s natural processes that allow this great world to thrive and function. One of the most important of these events especially for the oceans process of life is Paleoceanography. This is the rebuilding of and analysis of past environmental conditions of the ocean though its processes; it utilizes a variety of information sources, especially analysis of deep-sea sediment cores. Through the use of this science Paleontologist has been able to discover many important facts and obtain a better understanding of how the world works. The way this science is studied is by using data from biological, physical, chemical and geological methods which is exacted by particles that accumulate on the ocean floor. With this data scientist obtain information about the ocean’s temperature from the time of death of any living creature or material at the ocean
