Duc Hoang – Econ210 Journals Briefing China’s economy: Reflating the dragon The Economists November 15 th  – 21 st , 2008 A   question   is   raised:   “Can   the   world’s   fastest   growing   economy   avoid   a   sharp  downturn?” While  the  global  economy  has  been experiencing  one of  the greatest  recessions in recent decades for over 12 months, it is now just the beginning time of  China to start struggling with economy downturn. After growing by an annual average of  over 10% over the past five years, China’s economy has suddenly cooled quickly. GDP  growth slowed to 9% in the year to the third quarter, from 11.9% in 2007. Construction
