Journal #7: As you’re watching and rewatching episodes, are you catching jokes that you didn’t see before? Are there jokes that you’ve grown into (jokes that you were old enough or knowledgeable enough to get before)? It is an understatement to say that I am catching jokes now that I haven’t before. But when you compare an 8-year-old watching The Simpsons to an 18-year-old, it’s not that surprising. As I am watching and rewatching the episodes, I have this nostalgic feeling that goes, “Hey, I watched this before!” Concurrently, another part of me goes, “Hey, I get it!!” In “Bart Sells His Soul,” I realized at some point after he “sold” his soul to Milhouse that he would be paranoid about it. As a child, I would view the episode as it went along, not thinking ahead, not reading between the lines on the purpose of the episode. In fact, as I am typing this journal, I feel that everything I watched on television before high school was a waste of my time. I didn’t learn anything from it; it was merely a way to past the time.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
