The advantages of teams are that it can help business increase customer satisfaction by creating teams that meet the needs of the specific customers. Teams can also improve product and service quality by taking direct responsibility for the quality of the products and services they produce. What is more, teams can lead to an increase of job satisfaction, because it gives workers a chance to improve their skills. Finally teams can view problems from multiple perspectives and it also makes it easier for them to generate more alternative decisions. The disadvantages of teams are for instance working in teams is initially high turnover as teams aren’t for everyone and some leave it because it is too much effort. Also, social loafing is a disadvantage of work teams which occurs when workers withhold their efforts and fail to perform their share of the work. Finally, teams can have problems with group decision making like people feeling intimidated by other people in the room and not expressing what they think. 2- Recognize and understand the different kinds of teams.
