1- The student used a very informal and unprofessional salutation to address the
professor. The student did not state what class they are in(the professor may be
teaching more than one class). The student used all caps with RIGHT AWAY and it
comes across as he/she is yelling at the professor for their own lack of planning.
Text speak was also being used in the email. Also, the email was not signed with the
students full name.
2- If I were the professor I would probably simply respond saying I’m not sure who
you are or what class you are in, so please refer to the silibus you received to see
what assignments are due and what my policy is on turning in late work.
3- Dr. Smith,
I am currently a student in your English Comp 111 class, I have had some personal
issues going on so I am behind on my studies. I know your policy on late work, so I
will be submitting my assignments that I am behind on for the points you will allow.
