BankBoston BankBoston appears to be doing a great job at ensuring a diverse workforce in its efforts to motivate employees. They have created a workforce effectiveness program that focuses on three main areas (Arthur, 2001.) The current environment is impressive and can also be considered as "over doing it." Over doing diversity in a company can be an odd statement to make. However, I commend the company for taking such huge steps and addressing the issue, but many might feel the company is segregating its employees. BankBoston currently has six separate resource groups specifically broken down by African-Americans, Latinos, Asian-Americans, Gays and Lesbians, Parents and People with Disabilities (Arthur, 2001.) Why is it necessary for the company to have six different resource groups? If they are seeking to improve diversity why not have just one resource group for all? Diversity means to hire individuals from all backgrounds putting the skills of the
