Southwest Airlines Southwest Airlines Southwest Airlines seems to have the perfect working environment to work in. how do you think they do it? Having and maintaining a good work environment is extremely hard to do. Yet, Southwest Airlines has done so for over 30 years. Southwest has an unconventional way of training and what’s more unconventional is the companies motto, “hire for attitude, train for skills. Southwest has a combination of proactive and reactive approach to recruiting. They have a proactive approach because they still actively look for qualified people with certain attributes that would blend well with the company’s atmosphere. They also look for well qualified pilots and mechanics. But for other positions it is more reactive. Thousands of applicants flock to gain one of only 4000 positions. This is because Southwest treats and respects each and every employee. They encourage their employees
