The Voice of a Woman From the time we are born, we are unconsciously too many parents being molded to the idea of what little boys should do and what little girls should do. One could say that it dates back to Adam and Eve when God created Adam a helper and that helper was Eve. For many hold that statement to heart and feel that women should be seen as their husband’s helper and not their husbands equal. But does being a man's helper mean that we are not capable of holding the same office of a man. Prior to the late 1840’s, a woman was the keeper of the house and the child raiser. However times were quickly changing and the U.S was approaching war time. With all the men heading off to war, many women had to enter into the workforce to maintain their household needs. World War II brought an opportunity for women to obtain gender equality (Brooks, 2010). However, with all the laws that were passes to create gender equality; why is it that there are still more men in office than women? Why don’t women vote for women?
