As I understand, the central themes and strategies of positive psychology are to understand our places here on earth. Meaning that we are both creators and creatures of the earth and we have the ability to choose the outcome of our lives while learning from past experience. We take what we learn in past experience and make decisions based on the outcome we decide we would like to have for ourselves and our families. I think positive psychology is aimed at teaching others how to see the positive things in themselves as well as in the world around them in order to help them learn what it takes of them selves to get where they want to be in life. When they are autonomous they are willing to go the extra mile because they do not feel there is anything that can come in between them and what they want to get out of life. However, minor distractions to a well-driven individual may be major road blocks to someone without determination. I also think that positive psychology teaches people that there are things about themselves that can be changed even though they may think it is impossible.
